ELOPEMENT AT LAKE OESCHINEN

What do the Maori culture, a Hindu temple, a Swiss mountain lake, the Moroccan desert and the United States have in common? Actually nothing, except for the fact that our lovely couple Brittney and Peter made them part of their elaborate elopement ceremony. Their ultimate plan was to have exchanged their vows on every continent and, currently, only South America is missing. The elopement at Lake Oeschinen was their third destination in this fantastic journey. I loved every minute of this unique elopement in the Swiss Alps!

Brittney’s and Peter’s Journey

Brittney and Peter started their truly unique endeavor at their current home, New Zealand. Accordingly, their legal ceremony was framed by the local Maori culture. The next destination on their journey was a Hindu temple in Nepal, in which they uttered their first vows as part of their honeymoon. After that, our elopement at Lake Oeschinen, a picturesque Swiss mountain lake, happened to be third in line and was followed by – speaking about contrasts – Morocco. In Morocco, they even made their vows on camelback, in the middle of the Moroccan desert. Finally, the last stage was at their native United States, in which they made their last vows. However, the couple assured me that South America is still on the list, at which point they would have made their vows on (nearly) every continent. Perhaps, Antarctica is a bit too chilly for vows.

In conclusion, Brittney’s and Peter’s elopement proved to be unforgettable for me! Both wore the same clothing as in Nepal for their photo shoot. Brittney additionally wore earrings that she got from her mother-in-law for that special day. I had the impression that they really enjoyed themselves during their “mountain adventure”. As for me: I definitely had a ball :)!

What should you keep in mind?

After their photo shoot, I asked them what they would do differently next time. In response, Brittney wrote me that they should have taken more time to explore the surrounding nature around this beautiful location. Her advice to other couples sounded similar: do not rush your time spent capturing that beautiful moment! By the way: last year, I already had an unforgettable experience with Stephanie and Andrew at their elopement at lake Oeschinen.
